Some motifs carry more than beauty—they carry history. This one does.
The “Lake Blue Twining Peony” pattern is a museum archive design, faithfully reproduced from a Qing dynasty artifact housed in the Suzhou Silk Museum (second-class cultural relic). Originally woven for the imperial court, it was painstakingly revived by master artisans in 2019 through a collaborative project with the Palace Museum .
Peonies weave through the silk in continuous stems, a symbol of enduring prosperity and grace. The lake-blue ground shifts softly in the light—like morning mist over still water, luminous yet never loud.
Cut into a simple vest silhouette, it asks nothing more than to be worn. Layer it under a blazer for quiet elegance, or over a simple top with a skirt—effortless, yet unmistakably rooted in centuries of craft.
Handwoven in small batches. A piece of museum heritage, made for today.
